Chicken Fried Steak / Chicken

INGREDIENTS:

Steak / Chicken:
  • 2-3 lbs tenderized cube/round steak or chicken
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp One & Done (seasoned to taste)
  • Cooking oil

Gravy

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3-4 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp One & Done (seasoned to taste)

    DIRECTIONS:

    Steak / Chicken:

If needed, tenderize the beef or chicken until it's thin. Mix the flour and One & Done in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs and milk. Dip the meat into the flour, then in the batter, and again in the flour, ensuring both sides are well coated with each dip. Place all coated meat onto a plate.

On medium heat, heat up enough oil in your skillet that will cover up to the outer edges of your breaded meat. Fry the meat until golden brown on both sides. Then place it on a plate with paper towels to drain. After all the meat is fried, drain all the oil except for about 1/4 cup, leaving all of the remnants. Return the oil back to medium-low heat.

    Gravy:

Once the grease is hot, add the flour and whisk thoroughly until you have a paste. Add more flour or grease, as needed, to achieve a paste texture. Slowly pour in milk and One & Done, whisking constantly. Raise the heat to medium, and bring the gravy to a simmer, cooking until it thickens. Add more One & Done as needed.
